Marion Civic Theatre Volunteer Committees

Building Committee

Supervies the maintenance of the building and grounds, and oversees the costume and prop managers.  This committee submits requests for repairs/upgrades to the board and organizes work days.  Supervises the routine care/cleaning of all areas of the building, especially during show dates.


Meets at 8:30 AM on Saturdays after the third Wednesday of each month.


Workdays will begin at 9:00 AM following Building Committee meeting.

Finance Committee

Prepares and submits the annual budget, makes financial reports and assists in organizing all fund raising activities. This committee may assist with season tickets, program advertising and soliciting show sponsors.  Responsible for marketing the MCT organization and it's product into the community.  The committee's emphasis is on fund raising.  This committee solicits sponsors for upcoming season.  They may also assist with the program advertising.


Meeting at 5:30 the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Playreading Committee

Reads and considers material for MCT productions.  The committee recruits directors and producers, then submits proposed plays for each season to the Board of Directors. 


If you have a show that you would like to direct or produce, please attend a playreading meeting and present it to the committee.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee works to promote and build the image of the Marion Civic Theatre in the community.  By organizing various fundraising opportunities and assisting the various directors of the season shows being put on at MCT, the Marking Committee works to solicit shows sponsorships and help the local business or any other organization get connected to the MCT family.


Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday each month.
